ICAI postpones remaining CA exams amid India-Pakistan tensions
Amidst heightened India-Pakistan tensions following the Pahalgam massacre and escalating cross-border firing, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has postponed the remaining Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course Examinations scheduled from May 9th to May 14th, 2025.
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced that remaining papers for Chartered Accountants final will be postponed. "In partial modification of the Institute’s Important Announcement No. 13-CA (EXAM)/2025 dated 13th January 2025, it is announced for general information that in view of the tense and security situation in the Country, the remaining papers of Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate and Post Qualification Course Examinations [International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT AT)] May 2025 from 9th May 2025 to 14th May 2025, stand postponed," said ICAI in an official statement.
The ICAI has said that that revised dates will be announced in due course. "The candidates are advised to stay in touch with the website of the Institute, www.icai.org," said ICAI in its statement.
Indian armed forces pounded terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir in response to the April 22 Pahalgam massacre on May 7 under Operation Sindoor.
Pakistan increased the intensity of its unprovoked firing across the Line of Control using mortars and heavy calibre artillery in areas in Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar and Rajouri sectors in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 16 people.
Late on Thursday night, the Defence Ministry said India has swiftly foiled Pakistan's attempts to hit various key installations, including military stations at Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur with drones and missiles.
