THIS IS his first Lok Sabha election but he’s already got a headstart. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has kicked off his campaign while the main Opposition is yet to name his rival. And, there’s a growing buzz on the ground that a vote for him will mean the local voice heard at the national level, in corridors of power in Delhi.
“It will be a definite advantage for our constituency if it is represented by a person who is bound to be a Union Minister in the next Central Government,” said Deepak Joshi, a local resident of Bhadran Nagar in Malad West of the Mumbai North constituency, echoing many residents here.
