Sandeep Reddy Vanga picks Suriya for Ranbir Kapoor's role in Tamil version of Animal
The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial Animal, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Ranvijay Singh, emerged as all-time blockbuster despite receiving mixed reviews from critics. The movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri and others.
Recently, at an awards function in Chennai, the director was asked about casting choices for a potential Tamil version of Animal.
In response, Vanga mentioned Tamil actor Suriya as the ideal candidate for the lead role. His answer was welcomed with loud cheers from the audience.
Vanga gained recognition with his previous film Arjun Reddy, followed by its Hindi version Kabir Singh, although it faced criticism for its portrayal of toxic masculinity. With Animal, Vanga garnered both acclaim and controversy. While some praised the film's bold narrative, others criticized its depiction of violence and perceived misogynistic themes.
Looking ahead, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is gearing up for his next project titled Spirit, in collaboration with actor Prabhas. The film is set to feature Prabhas as an honest police officer, showcasing a different dimension to the actor's versatile talent. Details regarding the cast and crew of Spirit are yet to be officially announced as the filmmaker focuses on finalizing the script for this highly anticipated venture.
