Two suspects in shooting incident at Salman Khan’s house arrested in Bhuj
Two men, who were allegedly involved in firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence early Sunday, were arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch on Monday.
The two accused, who were apprehended from Bhuj district in Gujarat, have been identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal. They hail from Champaran in Bihar.
An investigation by the Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that the two bike-borne men, who fired multiple rounds at actor Salman Khan’s Bandra residence on Sunday had been staying in Panvel for 21 days and had purchased the second-hand bike used for the crime from a local resident.
The probe also found that the accused were last spotted at Mira Road around 6.15am, nearly an hour after the attack, following which they went off the police radar. The branch had sent teams to Rajasthan, Delhi and Bihar for further investigation.
An FIR was registered at the Bandra police station, soon after the firing, and the matter is being probed by the Mumbai crime branch. Khan, who has Y-plus category security cover, and his family members were present at home when the firing took place. However, no one was injured.
Earlier on Monday, a Facebook post purportedly uploaded by Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the firing.
The family members of the actor have raised their concerns over the security provided to Khan. According to a source quoted in an Indian Express report, what particularly scared the family was that one of the four bullets was lodged in the balcony of the flat where the actor, who enjoys Y-plus security, resides. The actor was sleeping at his residence when the firing took place.
